So I have to ask, how are they in Y? I have to go to JNB in first quarter and the company that bought us out has a strict Y only policy.

Not sure if I should go BOS-IAD-JNB (via DKR) on SA or United to FRA then LH on the A380.

    Thoughts?

They are ok in Y - not the best or worst. IFE was mediocre. Food was pretty terrible, but we may have been unlucky.

They are inconsistent. Took four flights on recent trip to SA including FRA/JNB and JNB/LHR. Meals average, crew attitude inconsistent. We couldn't face the IAD/JNB torture run so opted for a dayroom in FRA. That worked out well. Had to fight for my miles which were booked under UA codeshares. SAA changed my class codes (S to L) to 50% from 100% after the flights. Wrote to UA MP (twice) and got all the miles back including the 50%'ers CPT/JNB and JNB/WDH. I'd rate them as just okay.
