Two airports where screeners and supervisors have not seen one before...
    EVV
    IAH

While it was humorous to watch every TSO at the EVV checkpoint take turns to determine the GE card's authenticity, it was a bit disappointing to be asked to produce a passport.

Meanwhile, it was just plain annoying to have my card confiscated at IAH and undergo an interrogation by HPD in order to get it back.
    Trusted Traveller, my arse.

The elite line at MSP does not do well on my GE card recognition as ID test. it will be interesting to see whether this changes when they implement Pre Check for Trusted Travelers on DL starting January 24.

To my surprise, many tiny airports recognize and welcome GE cards. TSA employees in these places seem to display an attitude of being proud to remember their training about these forms of ID, even if they do not see them often. I've had my card passed around everyone in the line to show what the real thing looks like, versus I guess some pictures that they've seen.

BTW, the point at which the candy striper decided to confiscate my card at IAH was just after I told him "why don't you use that phone you've been jacking around with to go to GlobalEntry.Gov and verify in front of your staff that you are in fact an ignoramus for the ages".

The photo taking at Dulles certainly doesn't help the GE card's air of authenticity. My wife's picture is of her sitting in a chair with the test global entry machine in the background.

The officers clearly were taking photos never thinking they'd be used on a small form photo id.

IF that is indeed what you said, then you deserved every minute of the hard time you got.

I do not know about your Nexus card, but on my Nexus card and my family cards, the face is slightly distorted (I was told this is a security future and they have proper photo in their system). I wonder on how TSA would react to that

Crap, I thought I was having an exceptionally fugly day when I took that picture! :p

I seem to be leaning towards the camera in some drunken state and my slight smile looks like a lecherous smirk!

No wonder the TSA agent did a double take the last time I showed it!

Hmm. I find the picture in my Global Entry card is actually an improvement.

BTW, I think the less said about the quality of the photographs, the better.

You should get a Nexus card and compare your picture with GE ;)

If they follow the AA model, it might start off with one checkpoint at IAH - TC and one at ORD - T1.

I'm not so worried about the expedited TSA screening, I want to get the UA free GE/Nexus card for 1K's, preferably paid for with my Amex Platinum...

You are that worried about $50 vs faster screening?

Based on TSA's track record I'm not convinced that the trusted traveler will end up saving much time. Even Clear didn't end up being any better than being in the premium line. And with the premium lanes TSA does brilliant things like have 3 agents handling non-premium, and one agent alternating between premium and non-premium - ensuring the premium lane isn't worth much.

GE on the other hand can save enormous amounts of time entering the USA.

And isn't it in the spirit of MP to maximize rewards?
