So friend of mine flew on AA back in June. She didn't have an AA account ( i know I know ... rookie mistake), but as she was asking me about flight on Thanksgiving, AA was one of the cheapest. I told her to buy via AA and also signup/use her AAdvantage number. I told her to try to request the first flight she took on AA (In june) credited as well, but apparently AA's rules state that you have to request credit within 30 days? Is that true ... I havent seen that anywhere.

Did she have an AA account before the flight?
