Did you have a question or need information about the hotel?

Well, if they can afford it (and it appears they can), just relax and enjoy the fancy stay on their dollar/euro. :D

Most of us here would be content with the Park Hyatt Vendome. Typically about 700EUR if paying cash, but we'd be using HGP points or free nights from the Chase card to stay there. US$2000 sounds silly. Seriously -- for the price of this hotel room, you could be enjoying several extra weeks in Europe.

  7. I really wanted a hotel that I can get upgrades for under 800 dollars or see animals for 2500 dollars

  8. Why did I not see that  question with a full stop, and statement with a question mark

Could be just me or the acquired mentality of maximizing the bang for the buck that comes with this "game" but if I had $20-25k to spend on an 11 day trip, I probably wouldn't blow it on 11 nights at a single hotel.

But like I said, maybe it's just me.

Do the hotels have animals, or do you mean a hotel with a zoo or animal reserve nearby? Either one sounds pretty cool.

I'm not a luxury hotel person, but at the rate if $2,000/day or $1,000/day/person, I would hope that you could get more than a room. Could you find a package in that price range that includes your excursions, trips to the countryside for wine and food tasting etc? At that daily rate I hope you could get hot air balloons over wineries and such.

Maybe something like this: http://www.cellartours.com/france/wine-tours/bordeaux.html. Now if you are not a wine person, I'm sure someone does similar trips for art or food.

  12. I was not happy with the managers response with the George V. I was very pleased with Singita and Cape Town's Hotels.

Is it only me or does the OP questions appear unrelated and hard to understand?

How much time were you able to spend in South Africa? Any recommendations for sites to visit? Did you see all the animals you were looking for?
