    Hi All,

I thought you all may appreciate this...;)

A few weeks ago, I flew STR-ATL-TPA with three other people I know who travel a few times a year. After deplaning in ATL, I used Global Entry, picked up and dropped off my bags, and headed to the SkyClub in ATL's T Concourse before my next flight. About 50 minutes before departure, I headed to the gate...waited for a while and was a little worried when the other three had not shown up...passport control/TSA in the E Concourse had been pretty empty.

10-15 minutes after I boarded each of them slowly. I asked what happened.

AirTran had a TPA flight leaving about the same time as our flight...apparently that was the gate they waited at until about 30 minutes before our departure. Then it was the sprint from D to T! ;)

    WHOOPS!
    :)

A few characters between D and T, not to mention they look nothing alike. ;)

I guess if you don't travel much, you don't distinguish between airlines like we do. It's good that they didn't miss the flight or (worse) travel by mistake on a LCC.

I know, it was the emptiest I've seen it in a long time with a 3pm arrival. Of course, that's why I went with GE. :)

That is funny. I had a similar situation when I called a friend of mine who sounded like he was in a sprint. He began to tell me he was headed home to ORD while at DCA he realized, at DCA, he was supposed to be flying out of IAD. DUHH!!!!

A colleague of m mine went to ORD when ticketed from MDW. The person was new to the Chicago area from abroad and didn't realize that Chicago had more than one airport.

To make it worse, the person arrived at MDW too late for the last flight of the night and was forced to purchase a ticket for travel the following day. Double ouch!

This is suppose to be the reason Lindberg Terminal and Humphrey Terminal in Minneapolis went from being named terminals to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2...travelers were confused about the different names so they dumbed it down to T1 and T2 - OH THAT MAKE'S IT SO MUCH LESS CONFUSING...now, donchathink?

Not to mention the significant dollars spent changing the highway signs...sheesh. Stupid people will always be stupid

It wasn't quite that bad: drive back to new apartment in northern suburbs late at night and return to airport early next morning, arrive late for meeting, and fail to make a good first impression.

There are lots of motels near MDW, not too many hotels; I guess where you stay depends on your standards.

All of them that are worth a damn are about in a 1/8th mile radius. :)

I showed up at IND once for a flight out of CVG.

    Ouch.

I once misread a paper ticket, confusing flight number and time, and missed a flight out of IND.

I going with this, I had friends of friends visit London this past week and I met with them to "give them the tour..." I get an email on Monday...the mom went to Heathrow instead of Gatwick for her flight home. WHOOPS! She was reaccomodated, but it included an overnight in PHL on the way home.
