We are thrilled to announce that the next FTU Advanced will be held at the gorgeous Hyatt Regency Mission Bay hotel in San Diego from March 6-8, 2015.

Over two days, our five experts will share their extensive knowledge of how to earn, book, and travel like a pro on both revenue and reward tickets.

FTU Advanced features a small-group setting, allowing our experts to go far beyond the basics, and Q&A sessions with each speaker will give all participants an opportunity to engage at a high level to discuss complex issues and address your most difficult questions.

Topics will include the following general areas:

    — Award Booking on American Airlines
    — Award Booking on United Airlines
    — Award Booking on Other Airlines (Delta, Alaska, Avios, etc.)
    — Using KVS Tool & Expert Flyer to Search for Fares and Availability (fare construction)
    — Maximize your spending (beyond Bluebird)
    — Maximizing Hotel Loyalty Programs and Promotions
    — Visas, OTAs, Car Rentals, ATMs, and More Tips for International Travel
    — Advanced booking techniques for revenue tickets

    What’s included?

Your ticket gives you access to all sessions and social events, including a 90 minute open bar cocktail reception on Friday night, and a three-course lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, guests staying on our group rate will have access to the hotel’s buffet breakfast at the highly reviewed Red Marlin restaurant on Saturday and Sunday.

All attendees will have internet access in the conference rooms and we encourage you to bring your laptop or tablet along.

    Where?

Our host for this weekend is the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina. Located only a few miles from the San Diego Airport, this waterfront property features a number of gorgeous pools, a luxury spa, and a variety of restaurants.

We have negotiated a group rate at the hotel of $165 per night for single/double occupancy. This rate includes the full buffet breakfast at the Red Marlin restaurant on site.

To book your room, click HERE.

How do I get a ticket?
The event sold out this morning in under 3 hours. However, we have reserved 10 tickets for MilePoint members. More about it in this thread: http://milepoint.com/forums/threads...anced-in-san-diego-another-chance-here.98867/

Please note, tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred for a $25 fee.

    Folks,

There has been some questions about the resort fee. There is a discount, the fee is only 10 USD per night.

I'm looking forward to another FTU Advanced session!

Minor gripe - I do wish you folks would choose locations that don't have a parking fee. $29/day seems excessive for an event that could be held anywhere...

Does the group hotel rate qualify for Hyatt stay credit and diamond amenities?

Yes, it does. But I recommend the full buffet breakfast at the Red Marlin. It's one of the best breakfasts in the Hyatt system

Please, please, next time, let people know when tickets are going on sale more than 24 hours in advance. I would have been happy to get up at 5am and buy tickets if I'd actually known about the sale, but I don't usually have a chance to check the blogs until the evening each day (today being a rare exception...I wish yesterday had been).

Mr. Silver Springer and I will be there and look forward to seeing old friends. Glad the meeting is at a Hyatt on the water- a nice change from airport hotels.

Wow, see what happens when you miss a few days? I didn't even know there was another session in the pipeline. Is there another location to keep track of upcoming workshops please (especially any planned for the summer of 2015)? With a 30 min soldout window though, it seems only the MegaDo subscription folks would really have access to the initial tickets. On the other hand, there always seems to be a few tickets that become available at the last minute, due to schedule changes.

10 bloggers gets 10 tickets each to sell, 30% will not show,

So you have 130 tickets up for grabs,,,

Even the airlines hype the flight...

It will be a good show, and a seat will be no problem...

The are called folding chairs for a reason.,,

Brief update on the room block...

The standard rooms are sold out, but there are still non-standard rooms available from $175 and up. We have requested that the hotel add some more standard rooms; barring any unforeseen circumstances that should be completed Monday or Tuesday next week.

So what is the total number of tickets sold to this event? Will it be similar in size to the FTU advanced in Chicago?

We are selling an extra 25 tickets above Chicago, so about 20% bigger.

Just an FYI to everyone, there has been another 15 rooms added to our block each night so if you haven't booked one yet, you can do so now.

Just post it right here, and word on the street is they have extra rooms, so that should help you sell the ticket.

Hey everyone, I purchased a ticket rather speculatively (I knew the event would sell out) and I've decided not to go, since we're already visiting San Diego in late January. I think I'm going to hit up the DC FTU instead, since I'm on the East Coast.

Please message me if you're interested in grabbing my ticket! Bonus points if you're willing to pay the $25 transfer fee. ;)

I am also looking to transfer my San Diego FTU registration in favor of attending the event in DC. Please message me if interested.
