More high marks for Southwest Airlines. A survey of the world's 22 largest airline frequent flyer programs ranked Southwest number one in seat availability.

According to the fourth annual Switchfly Reward Seat Availability Survey, members in the Southwest frequent flyer program were able to redeem their reward miles 100-percent of the time.

Of U.S.-based airlines, AirTran ranked third with 95-percent seat availability. JetBlue was fifth at 88-percent and United ranked eighth with 80-percent.

who has the most award availability on the lowest award tier would be a real story. 100% would mean southwest never sells out flights.

No, it would mean they never sell out all flights in a day... or not often enough to be statistically significant.
