Will be flying home from Europe on Dec 28 or Dec 29, and that will top off my 100,000 miles, if there is a weather realted problem or mechnical, and I should not be able to fly until 01 Jan 14 or later, would I be able to get UA to post miles back to original flight date?

If it is an "Act of God" that causes your flight to be postponed then the force will be with you...;)

This is why I will probably come home on Dec 28, giving myself some leeway.
