I recently came across an article on Mashable about the Google Field Trip app. The app sounds like it could be pretty useful as a guide "to the cool, hidden and unique things in the world around you... Field Trip runs in the background on your phone. When you get close to something interesting, it will notify you and if you have a headset or bluetooth connected, it can even read the info to you." The thing about the app that caught my eye was free admission to 23 museums and zoos around the U.S. until the end of July! Museums/ Zoos (by city): Chicago: The Field Museum Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles: Museum of Contemporary Art Nevada: Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum, Reno Nevada Design Museum, NV NYC Museum of the City of New York The Museum of Arts and Design Bronx Zoo Central Park Zoo New York Aquarium Prospect Park Zoo Queens Zoo Portland: Pittock Mansion Portland Art Museum Portland Children's Museum San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers Walt Disney Family Museum Exploratorium Legion of Honor de Young Museum Washington, DC National Building Museum Crime Museum President Lincoln's Cottage There's not much time left to take advantage of this free museum/ zoo admission offer but I plan to try out the app and go to at least one place from this list. Next weekend we will be away but I hope to take Lucas to the Bronx Zoo the following weekend. General admission is $16.95 so using Field Trip will save us almost $35.00 in fees. Do any of you plan to try out Field Trip and get free entry to any of the museums listed above? If so, where do you plan to go?
