I have a problem/situation. I am planing to get to YVR from LAX; and have a question about checked bags that hopefully someone can help explain.

    1. I am AA Gold, if I fly on an AA Code Share // Operated by WestJet or Alaska do I still get the free checked bag?
    2. I have the AA Citi Card, again if I fly/buy on AA but it is operated by WestJet/Alaska do I get the free baggage Credit?
    3. I have the UA Exp card, if I fly on a UA codeshare // Operated by Air Canada/United Express do I get the checked bag free?
I think #3 via United Express I do, but for others I am unsure.

I understand that code sharing only allows partner airlines to sell tickets, not modify/eliminate fees and surcharges. So bag fees will still be determined by airlines operating the flights.

    AS, yes, WS, no.

    No.

No and Yes. United Express is not actually a separate carrier for the purposes of fees and other policies.
