    I recently reviewed airberlin's "Exclusive Waiting Area" at Berlin's Tegel Airport. While airberlin offers a longhaul business class product, within Europe they operate a single class configuration consisting of just economy. Since they have a low cost model, they don't have lounges in most of the regional terminals they operate from. Instead they have "Exclusive Waiting Areas," which are open to airberlin topbonus elite members, oneworld elite members, Etihad elite members, connecting business class passengers, and passengers on FlyFlex+ fares. These are basically private rooms with newspapers & magazines, seating, and non-alcoholic drinks (soft drinks, water, and coffee). So it's better than a gate area, though not as good as a lounge.
