Frankfurt Airport gets new Hilton Hotel in December:)

Despite being Germany's busiest airport, and having the highest number of international destinations of any airport in the world (a staggering 265 cities show up on the arrivals and departures boards, and that's just for non-stop services), Frankfurt Airport has to date been surprisingly under-served by quality hotels.

Hilton says the new hotel is primarily built for business travellers but with more emphasis on leisure facilities due to the increased blurring of the lines between business and leisure accommodation.

Each of the 248 rooms and suites has a business-friendly workspace area with ergonomic chairs, UK and US power sockets, wireless Internet and sound proofing.

Two executive floors provide guests with a restricted-access lounge featuring private check-in and check-out services, breakfast and food service.:)

Given that this hotel is also directly linked to the terminal by walkway- I am really looking forward to this- the Sheraton is often sold out. Good news.

I wouldn't count on December. The fact that the article link includes the text "in-march-2011", whereas the story talks about December, points to the much-delayed nature of this hotel's opening (and that of the linked HGI).

Hilton's own sites for the two hotels currently talk about reservations being accepted for stay from March 2012. This has changed at least twice, though, going back over a year. My December 2011 reservation hasn't been cancelled yet, but I fully expect to end up back at the Sheraton.

When (if?) the time finally comes, MP has two threads ready and waiting for stay reports:
