With the cartel holding the nation in a vice grip, and Congressional phones starting to light up as the country is increasingly shamed and embarrassed by our pitiful Merged World travel, time for A4A to conjure up a story about phantom domestic air competition. According to the story written by someone with close ties to the industry the fact that Spirit and Frontier have 100 planes on order means the majors are in mortal danger. Really? Well the evidence is that the airlines have settled into a very cozy relationship that has them celebrating out loud that the era of true competition is over. Hard to say for sure but seems that Spirit and Frontier have dramatically increased their fares on routes, little sign of cutthroatery on display. often just a few dollars below the carteliers. Flights are being added, but how many are actually competing head to head with another carrier? You'll also notice the cartel rewards outfits like Spirit by allowing them, as they do on LGA to ORD to operate the last flight out, thus filling that flight with higher than than otherwise paying pax. Reference is made to low cost (TO OPERATE) carriers which is fundamentally deceitful as many confuse it with low fares carriers which arguably have ceased to exist in the US**Adding flights is not ipso facto competition of course.
**Especially when one looks at all in fares paid by those flying Spirit and Frontier.

A4A pumping out the fog-thought the tobacco industry was good. Trying to depict tiny Spirit Airlines as a bona find competitor to the four majors. In truth for every ONE passenger flown (if you can call it that) by Spirit the four carteliers fly THIRTY. Not to mention they are adding routes which does not mean competing. Is there a single route on the country that is flown by Spirit and Frontier? Hmm. I thought the spin was they were competitors. In fact obviously the country is cozily being divvied up and consumers are being ripped off AND ,mocked in a nation without choice. Happy to provide questions if Congress wants to hold REAL hearings between fundraising.
