I like having the option to make a part of a post of a smaller font size than the rest of it. There are times when you just want to add a little comment but not detract from the main message.

The MiPo development team intentionally removed the font size button from the toolbar in order to keep the visual consistency on the site.

    Perhaps use BB code?

Indeed - much in the BB code we can do (albeit manually) and I was happy to find the [IMG] While it may be nice to have buttons for it, after a while too many buttons does clutter up the space, and adding color infrequently or size changes infrequently can be relatively easily done with BB codes IMHO.

BTW if you are interesting in using the [IMG] simply copy it from a previous post ;)
    or use this url: http://milepoint.com/forums/attachments/thumbsup-gif.25/?embedded=1

Not intended replace liking a post I believe, but still can be useful in some situations I think.

On the subject of font sizes, is there a way to set a larger font size in the default MP style that I haven't found yet? I use a 17" MacBook Pro "lugtop" and it's fairly squintworthy.

There are no overall font size settings at this point. Maybe you could use your browser's (Safari?) zoom setting instead?

Yep, that's what I'm doing -- pinch-scrolling in and out. But a setting would be useful, because my current Verdana 17pt default is perfect for just about all of the web apart from MP. :)

17-pt default font -- oi! That's a big font! [IMG] Nevertheless, I agree that a global setting would be nice. Let's hope that's on the enhancement list for the future.

That's what all the boys say. [IMG] 17" MacBook Pro in maximum res is a big screen.

1920x1200, I think? Those pixels are almost as small as on my second notebook, which is 1440x900 on 12" screen.

Yep, that's the one, August 2009 vintage. I'm thinking of trading it in for one of the tiny MacBook Airs when they get their next iteration, and picking up an external monitor for home. 17" is great for the armchair, but dreadful for actually taking out of the house on a trip.

That's why I love 12" and 13" notebooks -- they're great for travel, from weight to opening up within the confines of the Y cabin. I just have a big external monitor at both home and the office.

I think what you meant to say was that not all of you have the good glasses that I have. ;)

I'm in the opposite camp. I'd like to make the font smaller when reading, so I can see more posts without scrolling.

It's not the size, it's how you use the fonts! ;)

One more vote for allowing a font size button.

Some of us are not experts at using the BB thingy mentioned above to make the screen do what we would like, like change the font size or to insert emoticons that are not offered on the reply toolbar.

Please allow a simple font size button. Even just 3 or 4 sizes of font would be nice...

Some of us like to make little footnotes to explain things more at the bottom in small font. [IMG]
