Is anyone going to be flying on one of the final Singapore 747 flights out of the USA on SQ 25 before it switchs to A380. Kinda sad to see the 747 fade into the limelight with SQ.

also I will be flying on the route on Jan 14th the second to last 747 flight operated out of JFK by SQ

Why not change it to the A380 first flight on January 16 JFK-FRA? :)

I dunno........ Cause the 747 is a classic and was the mainstay of SQ intl fleet, seemed like a fun idea

the overall, Route is IAD-JFK-FRA-TXL then TXL-LHR-IAD

I am really excited I admit I have never flown SQ before. perhaps this is the first of many trips to come?

My reply yesterday disappeared. :) Now trying to remember what I wrote.

Are you in F or J? I agree if you are in F on SQ744 aircraft, you will certainly want more, provided you don't have a high expectation. Yes, even in a worst SQ F service, I still believe it's better than UA F service as an example.
But if you take J for that 744 flight, you need to remember that the J seats are still SpaceBeds (slanted flat bed). Many non-SQ flyers who had been on it, had kept posting their dislike in the other board. Of course the J on A380 would be a different story.

If you pay with $$$ for your J trip, and your schedule permitted, go for A380. If you can't change your trip, well, I read that one of FTer would be in F. You should ask him/her to invite you to VS Clubhouse. A nice start for the trip. ;)

I know I forget what I said yesterday. too in various threads.... and I lost 200 of the 1,000 likes I had recieved:(. I am like a virgin on SQ... lol ;)

. I have never flown them before so my view was fly J on 747 while I still can. Mainly, the A380 will be around for many years to come, and I am a big fan of the 747. As a result, I am really excited about doing this my using miles. I am also on FT and saw that.

I see. Then for the sake of the love for 747, you should enjoy it.
Here are the SpaceBeds on 777-ER. Are you going to be on the main deck or upper deck?

But of course, it is the best place to be on the 747. I could argue it is the only place to be. I have flown in the nose section of the plane but I prefer the upper deck.

The best place on SQ 744 is the nose section. ;) You can feel the wheels being stored under the F section after taking off. :) Then the fun begins for inflight service. :D

    The view from seat 4F:

The ultimate experience would be to break up SQ25. JFK-FRA on the 744 on Jan 14 or 15 and then FRA-SIN on Jan 17 for the 380. Savour and say goodbye to the skysuite & Megatop and then warp into the suites a day or two later. :D

How lucky this student is. :) Flying for free in Business to NY!

I checked on Expert Flyer. For JFK-FRA Jan 16, only three seats in Suites had not been assigned, and less than 10 seats had not been assigned in Business. I guess more pax switching from 744 the day before to the A380 flight.
