It is that time of month again – the Flying Blue Promo awards. Flying Blue is the frequent flyer program of KLM, Air France, and Air Europa and together, they offer awards at a discount ranging from 25 – 50% for travel all over the world. When it comes to travel from the US, the awards can be quite helpful as it is often that you can get economy awards from specific gateway cities in the US to cities around Europe (and to Israel) for only 25,000 miles roundtrip (though there are no economy awards in this round of promo awards)! In 2013, Flying Blue made some award changes and raised the prices on some of their regular award redemptions. However, a positive about those changes was that they lowered the surcharges on economy tickets. Now, these economy awards come with a flat 50 euro surcharge each way (plus any taxes).
