    About The Tropicana:
You may have heard rumors that Tropicana Las Vegas hotel and casino is not the Tropicana that you remember. Perhaps you even heard that we’re all new after a $200 million complete transformation of our property. If this is news to you, then prepare to be surprised because our resort is now one of the best casino hotel properties located directly on the Strip.

We started with a fresh redesign of each and every one of our Las Vegas hotel rooms and suites. We made them bright and breezy with custom furnishings and all the best amenities.

Then our 50,000-square-foot casino, which offers all the best Las Vegas games including your favorite slots and table games, was enhanced with the addition of a new Tropicana high limit area, a state-of-the-art race and sports book, and an award-winning rewards program, the Trop Plus Players Club

The Trop Doubletree is not always clear with honoring Gold and Diamond Elite members. Some guests have to pay the resort fee, some not if they complain.
Breakfast is a voucher at the foodmarket next to the starbucks.
Rates are cheap, Elite status low. Pool is nice and the view from the Workout section is also nice at the pool.

I have a booking for three nights at the Flamingo after Thanksgiving for $150 including fees so I checked this out. The rate was prepaid at $65 + $20 daily fee (clearly disclosed on Hilton booking site). One confusing thing is the booking site shows 20% off advanced purchase rate, but if you look the daily rate is $105 so $65 is 40% off... From reading the reviews and looking at the breakfast options here (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Location...bleTree_by_Hilton_Hotel-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html) I could not see a good reason to move from the cheap Flamingo to the less cheap Tropicana. (I'm Hilton gold.)

I got the same exact email as the OP a few days ago, just as I get emails from other LV hotels just by signing their website's guestbook. While it may be useful to post on here for first timer's thinking of a LV visit, I'm surprised that regular or frequent visitors haven't gotten email offers from their prior trips just by having a players card or visiting some hotel's websites to compare rates. We've not been to LV for quite some time, and still the emailed offers keep coming.

Yea, but adding resort fee and taxes and you will end up with ~$70 per night!
