‘Get Ready Russia,’ the ‘Missiles Are Coming’: Trump Makes Terrifying Threat to Putin and ‘Gas Killing Animal’ Assad After Kremlin Vows To Shoot Down Any Missiles Fired at Syria and Attack US Ships

Donald Trump used Twitter on Wednesday to warn that a missile attack on Syria is imminent, hours after the Kremlin vowed to shoot down any rockets fired at the Assad regime in retaliation for last week’s poison gas atrocity in the Damascus suburb of Douma.

The president tweeted: ‘Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart!’ You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!’

Trump followed up with a second Twitter blast, claiming America’s rapport with Moscow has never been worse.

‘Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War,’ he tweeted. ‘There is no reason for this.’

‘Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race?’

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, said the U.S. military was ready to provide Trump with military options but asked if he had seen enough evidence to blame Assad, Mattis said: ‘We’re still working on this.’

Interfax reported in the late morning that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov scoffed at Trump’s online brushback pitch.

‘We do not participate in Twitter diplomacy,’ Peskov said. ‘We support serious approaches. We continue to believe that it is important not to take steps that could harm an already fragile situation.’

The Russian military had just announced a deployment of troops to Douma. Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir of the General Staff of the Russian armed forces said military police would be there by Thursday to ensure ‘security’ of the town.

Poznikhir said 41,213 people, including 3,354 rebels and 8,642 members of their families, have left Douma with his military’s assistance.

Someone Looked up Schumer’s Last Name on Ancestry.com, Made Shocking Discovery

File this one under the category of “shocking, but not surprising” — Chuck Schumer’s last name means exactly what you think it does.

The Senate minority leader has been in Congress for more than two decades, while Ancestry.com traces its roots to the very non-digital year of 1984.

In spite of this, no one bothered looking the former’s name up with the latter until someone from Big League Politics decided to do it.

As it turns out, while the last name may not have been given to him, it couldn’t be more perfect:

“German: unexplained,” the report reads. “North German (Schümer): nickname from Middle Low German schumer ‘good-for-nothing’, ‘vagabond,’”

Now, that’s a bit harsh. There are a few things he’s good for.

For instance, he’s very good at getting in front of cameras. The two most dangerous places to be are between a mother bear and her cub and Schumer and a reporter’s camera.

I remember when I lived outside of New York City. One Labor Day, Schumer appeared no less than three times in a half-hour newscast on a local station.

One had to do with a speech he gave at a Labor Day parade for organized labor. In another clip, he was calling for Southwest Airlines’ 737s to be thoroughly examined. I honestly forget what the third clip was, except that it existed and had me laughing in utter disbelief.

Now, did he say anything of substance in any of those clips? No. Did his sagacity, experience and wisdom qualify him in any way to opine on the issue at hand, or to shed any light on it? No. Did he manage to get himself on TV anyway? Yes.

    See, good for something.

Oh yes, he’s good at other things, too. Hypocrisy? A-number-one.

“People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the United States legally,” Schumer said in 2010.

Eight years later, he helped shut down the government in order to win rights for illegal aliens to be “treated the same as people who entered the United States legally,” to use his own words.

He once talked about suspending refugee entry into the United States a little more than a year before he began fighting President Donald Trump over doing the same thing.

He thought congressional obstructionism was bad — provided, of course, the president was Barack Obama. Now, he thinks it’s the most wonderful thing since sliced bread.

So, hypocrisy? He’s fairly good at that.

I know the rule of threes would normally compel me to come up with a third thing that he’s purportedly “good” at, but the empty career of Schumer isn’t enough to compel me to do that. This is a man whose entire career has been built on the shallowest of foundations — on political expediency instead of intrinsic values, on exposure rather than execution.

He really is “good-for-nothing.” And yet, he still hopes to ride the mainstream media’s wave of anti-conservative sentiment to yet another stint lording the Senate in the 2018 midterms.

    May God help us all.

It is just good political practice to increase your voters, even if you need to import them, it bring them back from the dead,

They must look for voters who will breed, and always be in need..

I know many who have been here over 200 years fathered many Illegal children and still can not find a job..

Mexicans are doing fine, as long as the practice safe sex, they solve that problem many years ago, same with many Asians,

Trump would be doing fine if he could keep his pants zipped up, and his mouth closed..

Too many from the swamp, need the political jobs created in the past..

The 'Religion of Peace' strikes again - INHUMAN!
A Muslim woman in rural New York decapitated her 7-year-old son with a kitchen knife.

Police arrested Hanane Mouhibm, 36, a Moroccan national, after her son was found dead. She’s been charged with second-degree murder.

According to police in the town of Sweden, New York, they had received a call from Mouhib’s family claiming that she was suicidal, and armed with a knife. Police arrived on the scene, and ordered Mouhib to drop the knife. After she refused, they used pepper spray and a taser to disarm her.

Police then searched the house, where they found the decapitated body of her son, Abraham Cardenas, 7.

Court papers explain that Mouhib used the knife to stab her son in the upper back, and then cut his neck, severing his head.

Mouhib is currently being held in the county jail, without bail, facing charges of second-degree murder.

President Trump is reportedly prepared to pardon Scooter Libby, the former chief of staff for Vice President Dick Cheney.

Trump has already signed off on the pardon for Libby, who was convicted of lying to the FBI and obstruction of justice in 2007, according to ABC News.

Libby was ensnared in the investigation into who leaked the name of Valerie Plame, a former CIA operative.

He had his sentence commuted by President George W. Bush.

BREAKING: Justice Department Watchdog Releases Damning Report on McCabe
    [IMG]

The Justice Department’s office of the inspector general released a long-awaited report on Friday accusing former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe of “lack of candor” about his authorization of leaks to the media.

The report, first published by The New York Times, asserts that McCabe misled the DOJ watchdog and former FBI Director James Comey about the leak authorizations. He also misled the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility when questioned under oath about the leaks.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe on March 16, less than two days before he was set to retire. The FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility recommended that McCabe be fired for “lack of candor” during interviews about the leak authorizations.

According to the report, McCabe authorized an FBI attorney to speak with The Wall Street Journal about an article regarding the Clinton investigation. The attorney, who is believed to be FBI special counsel Lisa Page, sought to put a positive spin on McCabe and the FBI’s handling of an investigation into the Clinton Foundation. The article was published on Oct. 30, 2016.

The report notes that McCabe was authorized to have contact with the media. He was also authorized to disclose the existence of the Clinton Foundation investigation if it served the public interest. But the office of the inspector general found that McCabe authorized the leak “in a manner designed to advance his personal interests at the expense of Department leadership.”

“We therefore concluded that McCabe’s disclosure of the existence of an ongoing investigation in this manner violated the FBI’s and the Department’s media policy and constituted misconduct,” reads the report, which was sent to the House Judiciary Committee on Friday.

The report lays out four separate instances of McCabe giving false or misleading statements about his authorizations to leak to the press.

The inspector general’s office determined that McCabe misled FBI agents during an interview he gave under oath on May 9, 2017. McCabe “told the agents that he had not authorized the disclosure to the WSJ and did not know who did,” the report states.

And when questioned by the office of the inspector general on July 28, 2017, McCabe stated under oath that he was not aware that his deputy was authorized to talk to reporters. The report also says that McCabe gave a “starkly different account” of his initial story in an interview recorded with the office of the inspector general on Nov. 29, 2017. In that interview, McCabe acknowledged that he had authorized the disclosure to The Journal.

Investigators also determined that McCabe and Comey gave contradictory accounts of their conversations about the Wall Street Journal leak.

McCabe told investigators with the inspector general’s office that on Oct. 30, 2016, he told Comey that he had authorized his special counsel to disclose details of a phone conversation he had with a Justice Department official on Aug. 12, 2016. He said that Comey “did not react negatively” to the information.

But Comey’s recollection of their conversation was vastly different. He told investigators that he viewed the leak about the Aug. 12 phone call to be “problematic” because it disclosed the existence of a sensitive investigation.

He said that McCabe “definitely did not tell me that he authorized” the leak.

“I don’t remember exactly how, but I remember some form or fashion and it could have been like ‘can you believe this crap? How does this stuff get out’ kind of thing?” Comey told the office of the inspector general.

“But I took from whatever communication we had that he wasn’t involved in it.”

McCabe has maintained that he did nothing wrong. He says his high-level position allowed him to interact with the media. He has also said he did not lie to the inspector general’s office about the media disclosures. He has also disputed that he misled Comey.

McCabe raised more than $500,000 earlier this month for his legal defense fund.

The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee responded to the release of the report by attacking Republicans.

“The Republicans have been transparent in their work to discredit and distract from the work of the Russia investigation, so let me be clear: the report issued by the Inspector General today has absolutely nothing to do with Special Counsel Mueller, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, the conduct of federal investigators so far, or the multiple indictments they have secured against Russian nationals and Trump campaign officials,” New York Rep. Jerry Nadler said in a statement.

“President Trump will no doubt gloat about these findings and misuse them in his ongoing disinformation campaign,” he continued, asserting that House Republicans “will almost certainly try to use this report to fuel their efforts to distract from the abuses of power by this Administration and to undermine the Department of Justice.”

“Together, they will do everything in their power to lay the groundwork for attacking our judicial system and to prevent the Special Counsel from completing his investigation.”

WATCH: Panic on Zuck’s Face When Sen. Asks About Facebook Helping Obama
    [IMG]

Facebook is embroiled in scandal, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has become the face of a tech giant struggling to explain itself.

The billionaire was forced to do exactly that during two days of testimony in front of Congress, and one of the main topics surprised nobody: data security.

Not long ago, it was revealed that information broker Cambridge Analytica had “mined” the personal details of some 87 million people, and some of this information was used in the 2016 presidential campaign.

The media has tried to tie the scandal to Donald Trump. Recent reporting has pointed out, correctly, that Trump’s campaign team was aided by Cambridge Analytica data in its efforts to target voters.

However, what has been suspiciously missing in the uproar is the fact that Barack Obama’s campaign did almost the exact same thing in 2012 … and even openly bragged about its “accomplishment.”

That inconvenient reality was brought up to Zuckerberg by Republican Senator Thom Tillis — and one look at the tech billionaire’s face shows just how uncomfortable he was hearing about it.

“I think that timeline needs to be updated,” said the North Carolina senator, who has a business and technology background.

“I’ve read a series of three articles that were published in the MIT technology review back in 2012,” he continued. “And it talks about how proud the Obama campaign was of exploiting data on Facebook.”

The senator used the Obama team’s own words to illustrate that the problem had existed long before 2016.

“I think you should probably be equally mad when a former campaign director of the Obama campaign proudly tweeted: ‘Facebook was surprised. We were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn’t stop us once they realized that was what we were doing,’” he said.

Putin Responds to Syria Missile Strikes, Warns ‘Consequences’ Coming
    [IMG]

Russian officials launched a verbal onslaught against President Donald Trump on Saturday, hours after Trump approved attacks on Syria to retaliate for the country’s use of chemical weapons against its own people.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin called Friday night’s American attack against Syrian targets involved in the making of chemical weapons an “act of aggression,” USA Today reported.

Russia’s envoy to the U.S. said Russia will not sit by while its ally is attacked.

Statement by the Ambassador Antonov on the strikes on #Syria:
A pre-designed scenario is being implemented. Again, we are being threatened. We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences.
All responsibility for them rests with Washington, London and Paris.

“We are being threatened,” said Anatoly Antonov, the Russian ambassador to the U.S., according to The Guardian. “We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences.”

On Friday night, American planes and cruise missiles attacked targets in Syria. Trump said the attacks would continue “until the Syrian regime stops its use of prohibited chemical agents.”

Gen. Joseph Dunford said the U.S. targeted a research facility in Damascus and two storage sites in Homs, The Sun reported.

During a brief Friday night statement, Trump castigated Russia and Iran for supporting Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

“To Iran and Russia, I ask, what kind of nation wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men, women and children?” Trump said, according to CBS. “The nations of the world can be judged by the friends they keep.”

Trump added a message to Russia, which since 2015 has been aiding Assad.

“Russia must decide if it will continue down this dark path or if it will join with civilized nations as a force for stability and peace,” he said. “Hopefully someday we’ll get along with Russia, and maybe even Iran, but maybe not.”

Antonov said insulting Putin was “unacceptable and inadmissible”.

Russian legislator Alexander Sherin repaid Trump’s jab at Russia with an insult to Trump.

Trump “can be called Adolf Hitler No 2 of our time because, you see, he even chose the time that Hitler attacked the Soviet Union,” referring to the pre-dawn hours of 1941 when Hitler invaded the then-Soviet Union.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the attack disrupted any chance for peace in Syria.

“You have to be quite abnormal to attack Syria’s capital just at the moment when it had a chance for a peaceful future,” she said.

The American attack was triggered by chemical weapons attacks on rebel-held areas of Douma, not far from Damascus. At least 70 people were reported killed and more than 500 injured. The United States, Britain and France have said Syria was responsible for the attacks. Russia has argued that the attack was a fake and that it can prove it was orchestrated by Britain as a pretext for intervention.

The Republican National Committee has committed $250 million to a midterm election strategy that has one goal above all else: Preserve the party's House majority for the rest of President Donald Trump's first term

Being a Politician must be a high paying job, and this is just for a midterm election...

I understand the NRA donated $2500.00 trying to buy influence, for the midterms...

    ATROCITY IN SYRIA

Once again, Syrian civilians were attacked with banned chemical weapons, resulting in the death of an estimated 40 people and many more injured. President Trump condemned these heinous acts, stating that blood is on the hands of Russia and Iran for backing the Assad regime. The President has stated that the Syrian government will pay a “big price.” After consulting his military leaders this week, the President is directing an appropriate response to this atrocity.

    FAIR TRADE POLICY WINNING

For decades, past Administrations agreed to bad trade deals. President Trump won’t let other countries take advantage of the United States. Since President Trump announced tariffs on China earlier this month, President Xi of China signaled a willingness to open Chinese markets and impose lower tariffs on American products. Xi also pledged to cut Chinese auto tariffs, to allow competition in banking, and to improve protections of U.S. intellectual property. President Trump is putting America First by encouraging our trading partners, like China, to ink fair and recporical trade deals. We won’t be taken advantage of any more thanks to President Trump.

    CATCH AND RELEASE

President Trump has had enough. He has run out of patience with the obstructionist Democrats who refuse to negotiate a deal to fix illegal immigration. The President is taking tough measures by deploying the National Guard to the southern border, and he also signed a Presidential Memorandum this week to end “Catch and Release,” a policy of the last administration resulting in an influx of illegal aliens into our country. Ending “Catch and Release” is another step President Trump is taking to block the flow of violent criminals and drugs across our border, fulfilling his pledge to Make America Safe Again.

    WELFARE REFORM

Welfare programs in the United States have delayed economic independence, perpetuated poverty, and weakened our cherished family bonds. In an effort to stop the entrapment of individuals into poverty, the President signed an Executive Order. This order creates work requirements for able-bodied adults on welfare to end a record-high welfare enrollment, despite near-record low unemployment. Thanks to President Trump, dignity through productivity is making a comeback.

FBI Smacks Comey with Devastating News Ahead of Controversial Book Launch

Former FBI Director James Comey is making waves with his forthcoming book — but the memoir may be causing more criticism than he anticipated.

“A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership” is set to be released next week, but many media outlets have already received excerpts. People ranging from President Donald Trump to Congressman Trey Gowdy have already called out Comey for the book’s contents, and now even FBI members are criticizing its release.

CNN security correspondent Jamie Gangel told anchor Wolf Blitzer on Thursday that she had spoken to FBI sources, and they were upset about Comey’s book.

“I’ve talked to quite a few former FBI high-ranking sources. They are not happy,” Gangel explained. “They feel it crosses the line of professionalism.”

CNN: FBI agents “not happy” about Comey’s book, says it “crosses the line of professionalism” and hurts the FBI.

    3:12 PM - Apr 13, 2018
    Twitter Ads info and privacy

The reporter was referring to portions of Comey’s book that can only be described as petty, such as calling Trump “orange” and comparing hand sizes to see who was larger.

“When he says these things and goes this far, it further hurts (the FBI’s) reputation,” Gangel said of Comey.

Comey doubled-down on his pettiness during an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. Instead of walking back some of the anti-Trump rhetoric in his book, Comey leaned into them.

“I think it’s astonishing, the one thing an FBI director or former FBI director can do is dodge a question,” Gangel said about that interview. “So when you see him repeating certain words that are, no question, salacious, I’m just stunned that he went that far.”

Remember, this is a veteran reporter for CNN, certainly no Trump ally. When even journalists from Trump’s “arch enemy” news network are “stunned” at how low Comey decided to go, it’s worth noting.

Gangel and her FBI sources weren’t the only ones dismayed by the petty tone of Comey’s book. Gowdy had a similar reaction after he read portions of the memoir.

“I can’t think of anyone who’s done a better job of politicizing the FBI than he has in the last 36 to 48 hours, by talking about tanning bed goggles and the length of a tie,” Gowdy said. “That is beneath the dignity of the offices that he held.”

Throwing mud in a tell-all book might help sell copies, but it sure doesn’t seem to be helping Comey’s reputation. If anything, it illustrates exactly why the former director was let go in the first place.

Comey — as well as Andrew McCabe, who served as acting FBI director after Comey’s dismissal — have both shown attitudes of self-aggrandizement. They would apparently rather leak to the media, undermine the president, and sell books than do their jobs as professionals.

Both have been caught lying, or at the very least bending the truth, to fit a narrative.

Playing the hapless victim may have worked for Comey in the past, but the jig is up. He may have burned one too many bridges, and find the American people have run out of sympathy for his “woe-is-me” stories.

FBI’s Raid of Trump Lawyer’s Office Has Backfired Spectacularly on Mueller
    [IMG]

For Democrats, these numbers are going in the wrong direction.

In the wake of the FBI’s raid of the home and office of Michael Cohen on Monday, President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, a poll released by Rasmussen finds American voters are growing increasingly suspicious of the motivations behind the “Russia collusion” investigation.

And Trump’s consistent characterization of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe as a “witch hunt” might be starting to sink in.

A poll of 1,000 likely voters found less than half of those surveyed think Mueller’s investigation is an “honest attempt to determine wrongdoing” according to Rasmussen.

Meanwhile, significantly more of those polled consider it a “partisan witch hunt” than the percentage who thought so during a similar survey in October.

Neither number bodes well for the ongoing Democrat-media campaign to discredit the Trump White House.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters still believe Mueller’s investigation is an honest attempt to determine criminal wrongdoing, but that’s down from 52% last October,” Rasmussen reported. “Forty percent (40%) now consider Mueller’s probe a partisan witch hunt, an eight-point increase from 32% in the earlier survey. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.”

In other words, the hoopla surrounding Monday’s raid in New York – executed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York but instigated by Mueller’s investigation — is backfiring badly.

Despite an incessant drumbeat of negative news and opinions about Trump, the percentage of Americans who believe the Mueller probe is the pursuit of justice has dropped considerably in the past six months.

By contrast, the percentage of those who think it’s politically motivated has increased by an even greater percentage.

In what could be even more galling for left, Trump’s performance in Rasmussen’s Daily Presidential Tracking Poll, the only poll measuring Trump’s approval rating on a daily basis, showed him at 50 percent approval on Friday, a number he’s rarely reached in his presidency.

While having the approval of half the country might not sound like a huge accomplishment for the president, Trump supporters understand exactly what kind of opposition Trump is facing to get that. As The Daily Wire pointed out:

“… (A)fter record lows in the polls for most of his first year in office, Trump saw significant improvement by December and for the entirety of 2018 has been polling around where President Obama polled at the same time during his presidency.”

Most readers will remember that Obama, at the same point of his presidency, had been treated for more than a year by a virtual deity by the bootlicking mainstream media and his gushing fans in Hollywood.

For a president to have the kind of personality cult Obama was surrounded by and still poll only 50 percent approval is a testament to the good sense of the American electorate. Voters who were disgusted by the passage of Obamacare and its signature in March 2010 saw right through the endless glorification of the media.

Likewise, Americans who’ve watched as Trump has been attacked on a daily, even hourly, basis by alleged “news” outlets like CNN and the sneering celebrity elite of late-night “comedy” know full well what kind of resistance Trump has faced (it even calls itself “the Resistance” for crying out loud).

Well-publicized dramatics like the Mueller-instigated raid on the home and office of the president’s private lawyers might be intended to turn Americans against Trump, but the Rasmussen poll shows the tactic is backfiring — badly.

EXCLUSIVE: The Hillary Clinton Campaign and the Democratic National Committee allegedly used state chapters as strawmen to launder as much as $84 million in an effort to circumvent campaign donation limits, and the Federal Election Commission ignored complaints exposing the practice, a lawsuit filed Monday claims.

The NRA donated $2500 to the RNC..

i have no faith whatsoever in the US legal system when it comes to the Clinton's.

the sacked ex head of the FBI said he thought she wld be elected, and didn't want her to be an illegitimate president, so basically exonerated her, handed out immunity like candy at Halloween, when his job was to follow the evidence, and the law.

    a disgrace.

the Clinton's MO is just illegal, dishonest, and always playing the wrong way.

they have a documented history, extensive, over multi decades.

i hope this current DOJ hold her accountable, but unfortunately, if Sessions is left in charge, i cannot see that happening.

i think Sessions is part of the swamp.

Really speaks to the mental stability, and peaceable nature of mohamad's followers...
A pregnant Christian woman and her husband were beaten and burned alive by dozens of villagers in Pakistan—after being accused of criticizing Islam.

The couple, identified only as Shahrzad and Shama, lived in Pakistan’s Punjab province and were targeted by rumors that they had violated Pakistan’s controversial “blasphemy law,” namely that the Christian couple had burned the Quran.

“We had no enmity with anyone,” Shama’s brother, Iqbal, told the media. We had been living [in the village] for 18 years and never fought with anyone. They fabricated these accusations of blasphemy. Accusations that she burns the Quran, but our religion tells us not to do this. Despite this, they made announcements and gathered a lynch mob.”

Shahrzad and Shama, who was four months pregnant, were beaten by villagers at a local brick factory, and their bodies were then thrown in the oven used to bake bricks.

About 2% of Pakistan’s population is made up of Christians— and they have frequently been targets of the so-called blasphemy law, even just through rumors and hearsay.

Loretta Lynch Releases Statement Slamming Comey Before Interview

    so much credibility........

MS "Let's Call It A Matter" and MS "Meet Clinton on the Tarmac to Discuss The Grandchildren"

On Sunday, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch released a statement slamming former FBI Director James Comey just hours before a blockbuster interview of him with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos is set to air.

In a 330-plus word statement, Lynch highlighted what she claims are her career accomplishments before turning her attention to Comey’s upcoming interview. Addressing the issue of the criminal investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, Lynch wrote:

I have known James Comey almost 30 years. Throughout his time as Director we spoke regularly about some of the most sensitive issues in law enforcement and national security. If he had any concerns regarding the email investigation, classified or not, he had ample opportunities to raise them with me both privately and in meetings. He never did.

Lynch’s statement comes just hours before Comey’s interview with Stephanopoulos is set to air on ABC News. In the interview, Comey addresses his decision in October 2016 to announce that he was reopening the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server, just days before the election.

“I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump,” Comey says in the interview. “And so I’m sure that it was a factor. That she’s going to be elected President and if I hide this from the American people, she’ll be illegitimate the moment she’s elected, the moment this comes out.”

    Lynch’s full statement:

Over almost two decades as a federal prosecutor I have aggressively prosecuted drug dealers, violent gangs, mobsters, and money launderers, upheld the civil rights of all Americans, and fought corruption of all types — whether by elected officials from both sides of the aisle or within organizations like FIFA. Through it all I have never hesitated to make the hard decisions, guided by the Department of Justice’s core principles or integrity, independence and above all, always doing the right thing.

The Justice Department’s handling of the Clinton email investigation under my leadership was no exception. It was led by a team of non-partisan career prosecutors whose integrity cannot be overstated and whom I trusted to assess the facts and make a recommendation — one that I ultimately accepted because I thought the evidence and law warranted it.

Everyone who works for the Department of Justice has an obligation to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the work of the department. That is why, at the critical early stages of this case, I followed the departments long-standing policy of neither confirming nor denying the fact of an ongoing investigation. This policy both pre-dates my tenure in the Department and will live on long after the current debate is over. It neither misleads nor misinforms, but instead both protects investigations and guarantees equal treatment of those under scrutiny, whether well-known or unknown. Any suggestion that I invoked this bedrock policy for any other reason is simply false.

Throughout the process I did what I always do: rise above politics and uphold the law. At no time did I ever discuss any aspect of the investigation with anyone from the Clinton campaign or the DNC.

I have known James Comey almost 30 years. Throughout his time as Director we spoke regularly about some of the most sensitive issues in law enforcement and national security. If he had any concerns regarding the email investigation, classified or not, he had ample opportunities to raise them with me both privately and in meetings. He never did.

Behind The IG Report — How The Obama Justice Department Tried To Shut Down The FBI’s Investigation Into The Clinton Foundation

    • The Department of Justice Inspector General released a report Friday claiming “lack of candor” by former FBI deputy Director Andrew McCabe
    • The report also details Justice Department’s influence to close a multi-state investigation into the Clinton Foundation
    • The IG claims McCabe leaked DOJ’s pressure to end the Clinton investigation to battle claims he was partial to the Clintons

The Department of Justice Inspector General report on the “lack of candor” by FBI deputy Director Andrew McCabe also documents for the first time the Obama administration’s effort to shut down the bureau’s investigation of the Clinton Foundation, according to a review of the report by The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group.

The inspector general (IG) confirmed in its long-awaited report released Friday that in 2016 the FBI had ongoing field investigations of the Clinton Foundation in New York, Los Angeles, Little Rock, Arkansas and Washington, D.C. The multi-city investigation was launched when agents found “suspicious activity” between a foreign donor and Clinton Foundation activity in the Los Angeles area.

The report, authored by Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz, an Obama appointee, chronicles the Justice Department’s effort to shut down the FBI’s investigation Aug. 12, 2016. The pressure allegedly came in the form of a phone call to McCabe from a Justice Department principal associate deputy attorney general (PADAG) who pressed McCabe on the continuing investigation. The IG did not identify which PADAG made the call.

It was important the pressure for ending the investigation was issued in a phone call and not in a written document, former FBI assistant Director Ronald Hosko told TheDCNF.

“They did it in a phone call, which is maybe a little more difficult to serve up as evidence,” he told TheDCNF in an interview. Hosko said that by giving a verbal order, the Justice Department “chose not to document it by design.”

“It makes it harder to reconstruct. But that might be part of the goal, right?” he noted.

Hosko served in the bureau for 30 years. His last post was as the assistant director for the bureau’s highly regarded criminal investigation division. Hosko’s last post was under former FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Eric Holder.

Loretta Lynch was attorney general at the time of the August call. She had been caught privately meeting with former President Bill Clinton in June 2016 on her government aircraft on the tarmac in Phoenix. That meeting occurred only days before Comey decided not to pursue criminal charges against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the use of a personal email server that she used to conduct official Department of State business. Lynch later claimed the Phoenix meeting was “innocuous” and a “chance encounter.”

McCabe was worried about an Oct. 23, 2016, Wall Street Journal article, which appeared to have damaged his reputation for impartiality because the journalist, Devlin Barrett, reported McCabe’s wife received a campaign donation of nearly a half million dollars from Clinton friend and political ally Terry McAuliffe for her run for a Virginia state seat.

In an alleged attempt to show he wasn’t impartial to the Clintons, McCabe leaked information to Barrett a week later that claimed he personally fought the Justice Department’s attempt to shut down the FBI’s investigation, according to the Inspector General’s report. Barrett’s article appeared Oct. 30 and was titled, “FBI in Internal Feud Over Hillary Clinton Probe.”

The August phone call between McCabe and the senior Justice Department official was acrimonious, the IG reported. “McCabe acknowledged that the PADAG call was a very memorable event in McCabe’s career. It involved a dramatic confrontation between McCabe and the principal Associate Deputy Attorney General, one of the highest ranking officials in the Department. McCabe told the OIG that, despite his long career in the FBI, he had never had a conversation ‘like this one’ with a high level Department of Justice official before or since August 12, 2016,” the IG wrote.

McCabe authorized bureau officials to leak the information about the Aug. 12 call, the IG claims. “Specifically, McCabe stated that he authorized Special Counsel and AD/OPA to provide to Barrett the account of his August 12 call with PADAG because McCabe thought it was the ‘best example’ to counter the “incredibly damaging” narrative in Barrett’s intended story,” the report reads.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, a Republican from Virginia and the chairman of the House Committee on the Judiciary, told Fox News Sunday that he thought the idea of shutting down the Clinton Foundation investigation could have emanated from the White House and not just the Justice Department.

“Well, it may well go higher up. It may even go all into the Obama White House,” he told Fox News. The chairman said he was worried “how the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation handled the investigation into all the aspects of what was going on with Hillary Clinton, with her emails, with the Clinton Foundation, so on, bending over backwards to not prosecute, to not investigate properly, to not continue to investigate is very disturbing.”

The IG’s report also indirectly criticizes Comey, who cooperated with the Justice Department’s plan to remain silent about the bureau’s Clinton Foundation investigation

Comey repeatedly refused to confirm to Congress if the bureau was looking into financial crimes or influential peddling by the foundation, which was amassing hundreds of millions of dollars from special interests in the U.S. and abroad, the IG noted.

The IG chronicled Comey’s silence about their foundation investigation, recounting, “before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on July 7, 2016, FBI Director Comey refused to answer questions about whether the FBI was investigating the Clinton Foundation. Comey stated that he was ‘not going to comment on the existence or nonexistence’ of the [Clinton Foundation] Investigation.”

“Similarly, in testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on September 28, 2016, Comey refused to confirm or deny two different investigations during an FBI oversight hearing. He stated: “our standard is we do not confirm or deny the existence of investigations,” the IG’s office reported.

Hosko said it was “troubling” that the Obama administration was trying to shut down not a single probe, but four FBI investigations. “It’s troubling. There were multiple field offices. So you’re saying all four field offices got it wrong?” he asked.

FBI agents in the four cities “were collecting information about the Clinton Foundation to see if there was evidence of financial crimes or influence-peddling, according to people familiar with the matter,” Barrett reported at the time.

“Some investigators grew frustrated, viewing FBI leadership as uninterested in probing the charity, these people said. Others involved disagreed sharply, defending FBI bosses and saying Mr. McCabe in particular was caught between an increasingly acrimonious fight for control between the Justice Department and FBI agents pursuing the Clinton Foundation case,” Barrett also wrote in his Oct. 30 article.

McCabe’s decision to leak the information about the FBI’s probe of the foundation was not an attempt to be open and transparent, but to salvage his own reputation, according to the IG report.

“Had McCabe’s primary concern actually been to reassure the public that the FBI was pursuing the CF Investigation despite the anonymous claims in the article, the way that the FBI and the Department would usually accomplish that goal is through a public statement reassuring the public that the FBI is investigating the matter,” the IG wrote. The IG stated his leak was “directed primarily at enhancing McCabe’s reputation at the expense of PADAG.”

“McCabe’s disclosure was an attempt to make himself look good by making senior department leadership, specifically the Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General, look bad,” the IG claimed.

The question is how much additional pressure did the Obama administration apply upon the FBI to end its investigation of the Clinton Foundation. The IG’s report is silent on this point.

The IG is expected to shortly release other reports about potential FBI misconduct.

Comey Caught in Massive Lie, Can’t Even Tell Truth to Softball Interviewer Stephanopoulos
    [IMG]

If you watched James Comey’s first major interview since excerpts from his book began appearing in the press, you’re probably thinking you’ve wasted an hour of your life that you’ll never get back.

There wasn’t a whole lot new to be gleaned from the interview, conducted by ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in a manner that suggested not so much softball as it did T-ball. The big headline from the night is that Comey called President Donald Trump “morally unfit to be president” and said there was “certainly some evidence of obstruction of justice” when it came to the investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

I’ll leave the decision as to whether or not that’s true to the American people, as Comey seemed to do when he suggested he believed “impeaching and removing Donald Trump from office would let the American people off the hook and have something happen indirectly that I believe they’re duty bound to do directly.

“People in this country need to stand up and go to the voting booth and vote their values,” Comey said.

Speaking of values, one would assume that truth is a universal one. By that measure, the assertions Comey made Sunday will certainly be up for judgment over the coming days and months.

    WATCH:

One of the former FBI director’s statements on the Trump dossier, however, proves Comey views the truth very loosely when it comes to our 45th president.

The lie in question comes from when Stephanopoulos asked Comey whether or not he knew that the dossier, which the FBI used to get a FISA warrant on Carter Page — a Trump campaign employee who played a minor role on a foreign policy advisory team — was funded by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

“Yes, I … I was told at some point that it was … the effort had originally been financed by a Republican source to develop … material opposition research on Donald Trump,” Comey said.

“Then, after the Republican nominating process ended, the effort was taken up and funded by a Democratic-aligned group trying to get opposition research on Trump.

“I never knew which … who the groups were, but I knew it started with Republicans paying for it and then the Democrats were paying for it.”

While this part was first reported last October, it turned out to mostly be a falsehood. The original opposition research commissioned by Fusion GPS was funded by Republican donor Paul Singer, the owner of the Washington Free Beacon.
