I understand that unlimited post editing comes with status, but can we turn that restriction off at least during the beta phase please?

FAQ building is going to be much much easier if post editing can be done. Right now I'm trying to build a multi post FAQ in a word doc, and even then, I know there are some things I'll need to tweak after its posted.

    Pretty please?

Absolutely second this. During the content building phase, the ability to edit is vital!

At a minimum, I think topic/thread starters need ability to edit the posts regardless of status, or at least be able to do so at a lower status level. Ignoring the multipost FAQ problem for a moment, there may be legitimate reason to need to edit the first post of any FAQ topic when obviously all the information is subject to change at any time by airlines, hotels, etc.

Why should the ability to edit after 5 mins of posting be limited by status or to those building FAQs?

I know that the ability to edit posts could be abused but it seems much better to be able to edit incorrect, misleading or ambiguous information than to leave them uncorrected.

Agreed! I don't even really see how the "edit" feature can be abused to any great degree anyway, other than perhaps stuffing up the flow of things.

Is there a kind of record which shows the changes for moderators?

I agree that it would've been nice and helpful if the "original" members started out with some level of status/points that gave us the basics like editing.

I agree as well. I was in the midst of building a reference thread and went to edit my main post and got denied. :(

Do we have the ability to mark a thread as read-only. I see this being very handy for the FAQ threads.

Second this, too. At least for content building this is necessary, at least at this early stage.

That's been adjusted for beta. It is now unlimited. Thanks for the suggestion, we've sort of been trying to make sure the technology is working correct and overlooked this need for our members. But, no banker hours here—service on the weekends!

Without this, my first ever MilePoint post would have looked horrible. Thanks!
