No one here has seen any of these folk - have we! :p

Airports are stressful. No secret there. But occasionally the issue isn’t with the security line or the confusing indicators. To paraphrase Sartre: “Hell is other travellers.”Right here’s a list of the people you don’t want to...

more at the link above ...

They left our the guy who paces back and forth through the entire lounge while engaged in a conversation on his mobile phone, thus sharing snippets of his conversation with everyone in the longe.

I would like to add travel writers/bloggers who can't bother to proofread to the list. That article was annoying in this respect.

Odd article. I wonder how the site you cite processed it from
    its original incarnation here?

And, for that matter, how it has altered or "regenerated" other texts.

    Pleased meal, indeed.

I'd have to add a few of the EXP's on FT right now who seem to be having a melt down of epic proportions. Honestly, you'd think Doug Parker slept with their wife.

    Wisdom, nothing. Observation.

The first clue was that the article supposedly authored by Pauline Frommer appeared to
be written by someone with English as a second language.
Medium-uncommon and Pleased Meal bespeak autotranslation at work.

    Beth's objection too was telling.

This statement at the bottom of the article as cited yields a clue of sorts, and following the link back a
couple stops yields a version from a Canadian newspaper that, not surprisingly, is written in more
    idiomatic English.

The question that came to mind is, why did this site feel the need to regenerate the article rather
than just get permission to quote it? The copyright issue, I believe, remains the same.

True. This recalls the time I was traveling to meet a client who wanted insight into actions planned by a competitor. We (my company) were employed to find everything public we could about the subject. Riding along in FC on a long flight my seat mate, as chance would have it, was an executive with the company in question. He had on his laptop their planned strategy to precisely the topic in question. I followed along page by page reading everything i wanted to find out for my client. Recognizing the potential ethical question I attempted to engage the man in conversation. He then prepared to disclose everything in detail, including lots of background, while i took notes. During the next few hours I had everything we wanted. He never once mentioned confidentiality, nor anything else other than whether we would be willing to consult with them on the subject. I mentioned that we had a conflict of interest so could not. He still kept talking... Best FC fare I ever paid.

So, the idiots who conduct private affairs publicly really irritate me, but sometimes, rarely, their indiscretion has high value.

A close friend of mine was flying TATL to make a sales pitch to a company. Two chaps in the front row were chatting and working on their computers. It turned out that these two guys were heading to the same company to make a presentation for the same contract. My friend just sat back and took notes of the conversation......these guys were singing like the proverbial canaries.

They say that loose lips sink ships......it also sometimes sinks sales pitches. My friend's company won the contract.

Hello Emily ... when you create a post you can add a hotlink by putting a word in the reply and then highlighting the word and clicking on link and making it go to that link ... so if I put Emily's Post, click on 2014-Oct-07 07-05-21.jpg and put the link to your post just above, away you go :)
