    Hi All,

747-400 HKG-SFO - never been in F before and wanted suggestions on the best seats (most are open right now). Was thinking A1 :)

    Thanks

I'm quite partial to seats 1A and 1K however on some flights the flight attendants tend to go up to the closet between these seats to retrieve their belongings.

Have you already checked Seat Guru? Always a good place to start.

In this case, the only problematic seats listed are in Row 4. My only experience with this configuration was in seat 1K, and it was comfortable, and sufficiently out of the way that I wasn't bothered.

Most people like 1K, perhaps because the people upgrading are 1Ks.

I like 1 - 4K, with overhead storage. As I travel with my wife, we usually do two seats, in-line. Now, I recently passed on side-by-side in the center of GFC, due to worries about overhead, but think that I worried too much, as there was plenty of room.

    Enjoy,

    Hunt

We tend to choose 1A and 1K. DH especially loves the more forward-facing view there (a memory of his 24 years driving P-3s.)

I will echo what others have said about row 1. There is really nothing else like it in the skies.

    Enjoy the flight.

Personally, I'm 1A because I like to be on the captain's side of the aircraft. But it's a personal preference.

If traveling with someone, 1A/1K are fine as is and combo of 3 A/H, 3H/G, and 3 H/K. I almost prefer the setup of A/H or G/K so I can sit back and still talk versus have a slight blinder in my face (I'm a shorter person so I can't really see over it that well when sitting.)

I actually prefer 2K. It allows me to see out of both the A and K windows ...while the closet/table in the 2nd row is a good privacy buffer from the rest of the cabin.
