I had almost forgotten the old color scheme. Much prefer the new one! Thanks.
Yeah, the red scheme looks dated. Though I'm not a fan of the slimy green color scheme either. I really liked the black tail with the red maple leaf scheme.
I agree on the livery. But I do still like the old logo, with the simpler, cleaner maple leaf.
Never really liked the double stripe logo. Both the font and the maroon. This is my fav:
That is the old, old scheme...with the old, old, old scheme pictured above.
I agree with both QSQ and Infinite1K The current toothpaste tube colour scheme is extremely ugly: it reminds me of toothpaste stains in the sink if you haven't rinsed properly
Or the old, old, old, old scheme (with the addition of the Montreal Olympics logo)
Now that is old,old,old,old.....is there one before this scheme between this and the TCA livery?
A nostalgia thread.
Landing or takeoff?
Landing = flaps down
There is this DC 8 of the old, old, old, old, old livery....
I like the black front! Almost like a Canada Goose's face!
Considering its a flat black, I bet it was to cut down on the glare from the sun hitting the cockpit and blinding the pilots.
Yup, that is exactly it.
Love this airplane porn. Keep it coming!!

omg 747!!!!!!!!!! i wonder what it's like to fly on an AC 747 back in the day
sigh, before my time
It was great. I don't even remember the F/J configuration anymore but I do remember one side being non smoking and the other being a smoking side..........it was ludicrous and only kep smoke from being blown in your face if you were on the ns side
I like this one. Not sure I've ever seen it in real life but it just looks good
+1. But I do love the scarf wrapped around!
That scarf is going to flap around a lot at 35K feet. Hopefully they tied it tight (and not around the doors)!
I flew AC's 741 twice. YYZ-TPA (!). Middle seats, but still fun, from what I remember. I was maybe 12 at the time.
Only pure jet that AC had I have not flown on is the DC-8...
Anyone here fly a Vanguard?
