I hate to say it, but I actually like how it looks in the new livery. Maybe its just really hard to make a 744 look bad.

  3. I suppose I can get used to it :p

I'll get used to it. Maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but I sort of like the way the white lines on the globe sort of swoop up - look at the difference from the appearance on the OPs avatar. The size of the UNITED seems more in scale to the plane than on some of the other examples I've seen.

BTW I flew N645UA (A320) in the new livery on Saturday TPA-ORD. My nuts were hot, what can I say. I lived.

Way too much white. What I liked about the UA livery was the blue stripes running down the hull, which turned a boring, white fuselage into a sleek aircraft. I'll miss the blue belly!

My FA on the AMS-ORD run yesterday was not too concerned about the exterior, she just wanted the interior to be beautiful. Also, in her opinion Smisek still has lots of play room before he even begins to sniff Tilton status. She was excited about the ability to bid for new routes but stated that the two unions had to resolve the "start of employment date" issue.
As she said, "It can't be all United". This is a merger and not a takeover. I can get used to the livery ---

but I still prefer the tulip.

No matter what you do to a 747-400, it will always look good.

I think I would have to disagree with you on account of Braniff.

Love. It. Wish they would have been a bit more daring on the tail - sort of how Qantas brings the livery all the way from the fin down to the bottom of the fuselage

At least they made the "United" large enough not to look out of place. The "Delta" on their 744's looks lost in the sea of white. It will be nice to see the entire fleet in new paint. No more of those peeling mess of planes that you still see from time to time. At least for a little while. I'd love to see this airplane fly DEN-SFO, but I really know I'm dreaming there.
