Any decent buys at the FCO duty free, or better to purchase elsewhere?

There's a lot of duty free at FCO - what are you looking for?

I've not bought either, so unfortunately I can't advise you. I've found some decent deals in the duty-free designer boutiques, but that's not what you're looking for.

I have an overnight in FRA from FCO and I know that prices in the duty free in FRA are not very inexpensive, maybe I will just skip the whole duty free thing. Will be on a cruise prior to FCO and perhaps their ships stores will have something that interests me.

About the only items in the ship's stores which are any deal at all are the higher end watches. Otherwise, I'd suggest purchasing gifts in port from local vendors. You'll get more interesting items and a story to tell as well. Remember to haggle most places!

What are your port calls? Perhaps I can help with some ideas?
