I wanted some ice cream off the EAT menu while seated in FC. I offered to pay for it but the FA wouldn't take it. Has this changed from a few years ago? If not and they were just "being nice"...how do they rectify that from an accounting standpoint. It's not like giving a free alcoholic drink to someone in coach that they can just write off as consumed in FC.

I always get charged when I ask to substitute something from Y when FC meal choices have become 'chicken or something from the snack basket'. YMMV, obviously.

When they ran out of one FC meal (the ever popular pasta) choice yesterday, they offered sandwiches from the Y menu in lieu of the chicken. It was a chicken salad sandwich though. :D

My experience is the chicken is several times more popular than any pasta they serve.

If you mean this pasta, you're correct! This was served on my LGA to ATL flight.

I've always had success in walking to the rear galley with cash/coupon in hand and asking for something on the menu.

CASH?? Delta doesn't take cash. Or was the cash used for another reason?

This looks pretty decent, although I haven't been unhappy with the salads that come with the optional boneless chicken breast.

The salads with chicken are a lot better than the cold chicken sandwiches (offered on my last two lunch and dinner domestic mainline FC flights) on pretzel rolls with the unnatural coral-colored glop smeared generously on both pieces of bread and the chicken. I think it must be sun-dried tomato flavored mayo of some sort as it doesn't seem to be orange French or Russian salad dressing, but I find it to be a big and disgusting blob of flavorless fat and calories.

I wish they would have the dressing on the side for those sandwiches...

Exactly. Sometimes I manage to throw away the piece of bread with the dressing, but when it's smeared on both sides of the sandwich, it seems hopeless.

Yeah I agree, usually when this is the case they are out of salads too so this is the only option then.

Thats because I take pretty pictures! Thankyouverymuch! LOL

That salad was horrible. What it "looked" and "tasted" were two different things! The chicken tasted like wood and the pasta was overcooked and under-dressed. It was bad.

For the records, I tried this again last Friday and was given free ice cream again.
