    Farewell Flight For US Airways Announced The end of an era will come on October 18, 2015, when US Airways flight 434 arrives in Philadelphia after 6am on that morning. The flight will depart from San Francisco on October 17, around 10pm. The farewell flight announcement comes the same day that American Airlines sent an email detailing the official end of US Airways, which will occur on October 17. At this time, US Airways flights will cease to exist, and the airline will become a part of the sad history behind mergers that have seen the end of Northwest, Continental, and AirTran over the last decade. According to reports, US Airways has hired 1,900 airport and reservation agents and will train an additional 10,000 of their current employees to assist with the transition from one reservation system, Shares, to American’s, which is powered by Sabre. If you happen to have booked a flight that departs after October 17, American will send information with the American Airlines reservation code. A spokesman for American Airlines said that such a circumstance only impact about 4% of American and US Airways customers.
