Anyone got the inside scoop on when the flyertalk mileage run tool at FareCompare will be back online?

Sadly, I do not. I do miss the farecompare.com/flyertalk. :(

me too! There are a few other map tools (like Travelocity's dreamaps or whatever they call it now, and I think Kayak has one too), but none of them are as good!

The getaway map on Farecompare.com is now showing the cents per mile calculation so that helps but sure do miss the flyertalk link.

  5. Thanks for posting this information. FareCompare has further information about the recent changes here http://farecompa.re/tbkS2w

Except the Getaway Map doesn't really work. If I choose an airline, let's say US Airways, it still shows me fares for all other airlines. And the US Airways fares for the cities it shows don't even follow the rules I've selected such as CPM or total cost.

    Almost useless to me then.

If the rereleased product can outperform the old search that truncated results and did not return most interesting options, this is good news as far as I'm concerned. The old search would never provide useful results for me.

Thanks for the update. I wish they had a tentative release date posted but I feel better knowing that it is scheduled to return at some point.
