I am headed to the fairmont in Maui this January. Any tips on what to do, places to eat etc?
You should probably try Monkeypod Kitchen for some local food done with a certain amount of flair. Recommend you make a reservation though.
Gannon's is another "should try". Good view. Try the ahi poke.
For a view of "real" Maui, drive up the Kula Hwy. You can stop at the Kula Lodge or the botanical garden.
Star Noodle in Lahaina has wonderful food - worth the trip
Bev Gannon's Hali’imaile General Store is also excellent food
Aquarium is worth a tour
Thanks for the tips!
I am off to Maui soon and will try to send some additional info.
did you book with a travel agent
No we are headed to kaanapali to stay in the Westin time share...then to the Fairmont for two free nights from my fairmont card. We haven't been in Wailea so I was looking for ideas.
We tried Gannon's and Monkeypod Kitchen. Both were a big hit! Thanks for the suggestions.
An update...we loved the fairmont Maui. Beautiful property! Very relaxing.
Thanks for your update, how was the service, food and drinks? Cheers.
The service was great! We ate dinners off property, but the breakfast buffet was great...lots of choices that were very tasty (think macadamia nut sticky buns). The drinks were especially good at the swim-up-bar
Thanks for sharing your insights. Cheers.
