'F*ck your dragons': San Francisco tour guide goes on racist rant through Chinatown on her last day
Anyone surprised? This is a microcosm of how a lot of people the in great USA actually feels.
"give us your great unwashed" was always a PR slogan
I for once wasn't too surprised. Many people are "angry" and holding up some interesting "morals".
I'm Chinese and in Singapore..and pardon the language, but the word that springs to mind is 'bigotry'..
Well said. Singapore is a beautiful city and state. Cheers.
thanks, so is the USA ! I've gone there twice and visiting Boston in 2 weeks time on a business trip and I'm grateful for the opportunity.. it's a wonderful country to visit coming from my very small state.. i realise i am commenting on the thinking of a small minority of folks but it's sad that some do not think about the gravity of their words before they speak..
Indeed, it's pretty sad what some people say "out loud", but equally sad is the fact that what they say "it's actually" what they "really think". The guide in the article and video might have actually a point, from her own perspective of course. Rant or no rant, there's no real place in a globalized world for racism IMHO. Cheers, enjoy Boston and all the success to you on your business trip.
What an ugly person (inside)! What was she swigging?
Shame that those on the bus actually clapped and joined in the chant at the end.
Sadly racism exists but for the people to condone and encourage it, just perpetuates the ugliness of some.
I don't know who's more shocking here, the tourguide, OK she was on her last day, but now at least we "know how she really thinks", or should we be more shocked about the people who "applauded and encouraged / supported her behavior". I guess, all both cases are shocking to my mind, to our minds, as I pointed out before, racism has no place in a real society, but where do we find a "caring and real" society these days? But that's another matter right now. As you pointed out, it's a very ugly situation there. Sad, very sad indeed.
Maybe I'm wrong but she seems to be African American so you would think she would know better. I guess anyone can be a racist. The best part is how she brags on LA's China town but hates SF's. Drunk Racist is the term I would use.
She didn't hurt her career opportunities. She can definitely get a job on Fox News.
or Sun News up north:
Sounds popular. Of course, everyone can be a racist.
There seemed to be quite a few ironies in this woman's diatribe but whether it was the alcohol or some other effect, she should probably avoid any position in customer service, public service.....well, really, maybe she should check into detox and then see what happens....
I can't really like this ... two thumbs down! Shame on her!
Two thumbs down indeed, sadly I believe that such sentiments are actually brewing under the carpet at many a good home.
