I will check tonight to see if we can get some amazing seats for free.

    How long should we stay?

Your best bet may be using your AS miles for a LA J award. Your best routing is SEA (AS) SFO (LA) LIM (LA) EZE. Using *A to EZE is quite difficult. AA often has F space available but it is not worth 125K mi a ticket for what AA calls "F" - especially as the beginning/end of your trip will consist of several hours of domestic ghettobird. LA via SFO gives you about 9 hours of FLAT on your way home, when you need it most (LIM departure after midnight, then a 9 hour flight), easy SFO immigration and a relatively short walk over to AS for your last hop to SEA.

We booked AA using AS miles. 100,000 @

it was the best they had available.

It will be another new experience for us. :)

Nice to see a new thread on the fun. As always, anything I can do to help from afar let me know. Sadly 2011 will not see my return for the event.

Meals in EZE offer good values, Taxis are also inexpensive. The US Dollar comes a long way here... a proper steak dinner with wine will cost approx AR$200, or just under $50.

Just need to combine that with a longer trip to Argentina (and maybe even Chile, shhhhhh). In the meantime, I will commit to working hard to increase the Canadian consumption of Malbec! ;)

I would love to join the fun. I just can't pull off this and SMD3 back to back. I wish they were spaced out more.

I believe the optional European portion starts on Labor Day (9/5) and the mandatory charter flights (ORD-GRU-DEN) start 9/7. So, I suppose since I am not doing the Euro portion, that I could technically go down to Cow Do VII, come back to the US, then head back down to S.A. that same week. For me, though, that would be a little brutal :).

Going someplace for the sole purpose of eating and drinking is my kinda thing. On top of that my recent visit to EZE was 9 hours in the airport.

Unfortunately I have rough plans for a long weekend in REP and if I back out my better half will have me sleeping on the couch. Unless something changes I'll need to pass. :(
