EZE has just gotten a new Terminal... they had the big ceremony with the politicians yesterday. I hope this means that the entire airport will get some sort of facelift... god knows it is badly needed.

    For details see here....

Good question.... I was asking myself this today and Ive not been able to find any information on this. Im guessing it will be offered to those companies accepting to pay a premium.... but Im just guessing this.

Looking at the airport's website, today all AR departures are from C, and all other airlines are from A. Nothing from B. What a shame.

    Yes and no.....

Its been confirmed that all Aerolineas operations will be moved to the new terminal. While its too bad that the other carriers will not be able to use the new facilities, speaking with my airline contacts most say that its excellent news that AR will have its own pig-pen... this way, when AR goes on strike or has other issues, there is a better chance that the other carriers can still go on with normal operations.... so there is a good side to this.

Under any circumstances the new terminal is good news. Less congestion does mean ones life is more comfortable during the early evening, previously not an enjoyable time at EZE.

Except AR was out of B. The Zoo is at A and wasn't affected by AR, correct?

Not always, as AR was mostly out of B but some flights were also operated out of A, depending on time of day and type of metal, etc..... remember there is a shortage of jetways at EZE.... I think they have invested in 6-8 new jetways for the new Terminal so this is also good news. Now, if they would put some $$$ into getting new jetways for AEP this would help LAN and other be more efficient, of course that is another ballgame....

Agreed... but, still, even with the new Terminal and the new further refurbishments that are planned for EZE, it still remains a pathetic 5th rate airport.... completetly unworthy of a Federal Capital of a city that received more than 10 million visitors last year....

Far be it from me to comment the inadequacies of EZE. After all just think about the state of GRU, or even BSB and GIG. We all in the Southern Cone have nothing much to be proud of in our airport infrastructure.

Ok ok ok... dont get carried away there. Yes, SCL is much better than EZE and GRU, but please hold back from comparing it to SIN or HKG... eh..???

I'm not comparing it to SIN or HKG. I am comparing every airport I've been to in Chile (PUQ, PMC, SCL, LSC, IQQ, ARI), and remodeled LIM with EZE, AEP, GIG and GRU in this "southern cone" discussion. :p

I am also surprised (well, not really) that given the distance of EZE from the city center that there isn't an onsite airport hotel. Maybe the taxi drivers have threatened to burn one down if it is built. SCL and LIM each have one right out the door. There's plenty of room where all the old AR planes are rotting.

The city of Ezeiza just approved a new investment project that will bring a hotel to the area, some say it will be a Howard Johnson or similar type.... more details as I find out more.
