Thanks...I've got the GreaseMonkey script on my computer as well...figured I would share since there are those out there who might benefit from the automated alerts that Expertflyer offers when availability opens up as opposed to manually running the query all the time...

Yes, but they also allow you to set up availability alerts wich is kinda cool and something I've used to great advantage with UA availability in the past...so I'm kind of glad to see this since it might indicate that the ability to create alerts won't vanish in the merger.

    Nice :)

I just put a alert on expertflyer on my HNL flight there for January as I'm standing by for a upgrade using a SWU.

I know sometimes "R" becomes available and it will let you know in the itinerary, but in not all cases will it automatically upgrade you -- so it's nice to see if there's a R and I get the alert, then I'll call CO right away

I didn't know they recently added that. I have found ExpertFlyer invaluable for my business and personal travel.

    Interesting, I've never experience this.

What I usually use it for is waiting to find NC (CO R) before booking a ticket. While there are a lot of complaints about the W fare requirement for SWUs, one advantage I've found is that Ws seem to have, at most, seven day advanced purchase requirements and many have three-day requirements. That gives me the flexibility to set up a bunch of NC alerts and wait for them to start releasing upgrades closer to the date of the flight before I actually pay for the ticket....

It's a different game than it used to be when you could buy the ticket months and months in advance with plenty of upgrades available, but it actually has advantages since you're not giving the airline money seven months before your flight.

I had this happen on a itinerary last year, the first segment upgraded when I applied it, second didn't.

A few weeks later I went in and it had some message In red on the itinerary (I can't recall exact text) but it said a upgrade was available and I needed to call into reservations.

Right now I'm on the wait list for CO 15 in January. Here's hoping to it clearing in advance :)
