For AA's long haul aircraft, isnt it correct that the back row of an exit row does recline... ie. its only the front row of a group of two exit rows that does not have recliner seats...?

    Sorry for the moronic question....

no such thing as a moronic question. I am not 100% certain, but I believe that both rows recline.

From my experience on AA, the only seat in the group of two exit rows that doesn't recline is the front one next to the window. All others recline normally.

This has been my experience on AA 737s, 763s, and 752s.

I took seat 31H at the advice of the check-in agent and was quite happy. Yes its close to the LAVS and folks do stand around in front of the seat quite a bit but the extended legroom is hard to beat....

So you were on a 772? This thread would have been much easier if we knew the aircraft. Exit row seats in Y on the 772 are great, no issue at all.
