Last week, an ex Delta employee (who had also worked for Northwest) was sentenced to 10 years in prison for fraud. He had plead guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud in the amount of over $36 million. According to USA Today, Michael Yeder had been submitting false invoices to Delta (and before, Northwest) from Airborne Voice and Data – for 14 years. The services that he was supposedly supplying through that company were never provided and the false charges had been approved by his accomplice, a Delta manager named Paul Anderson. Anderson will be sentenced later this month. In addition to serving 10 years in prison, Michael Yeder has had to surrender his 72 foot yacht and mansion in Beverly Hills that he had purchased with the stolen funds. That is a lot of money that was stolen from Delta over a very long time and both the FBI and Delta are glad the investigation and case are over.
