Have a five hour layover at EWR, would like to have a decent dinner prior to my next flight, I don't mind leaving the airport, this will however be in the dead of winter. Suggestions would be appreciated. Txs

If you like Portuguese food there are a few nice restaurants near downtown Newark about 15 minutes away. Don Pepe, Spain and Iberia could satisfy your taste.

Yup, these are in the ironbound section. Although I haven't been, word is those restaurants are quite good.

There’s also a very good Portuguese place near the Hampton Inn Newark Airport. Their shuttle bus will take guests there for free. If you call the hotel, tell them you’ve stayed there in the past and was wondering the name and address of the Portuguese restaurant near them, I’m sure they’d tell you. Sorry that I don’t remember it myself.
