Question: Which chains give the event planner something for booking events? I know that one can get Marriott nights and points - Do any of the other chains do the same? This is not something that will go on the planner's cc or credit to his/her account, rather it is more akin to booking a conference room and a floor of rooms for 3 or so weeks and paying for it with a corporate account. Is this something the planner can negotiate?

    Thanks

    Cheers

Absolutely yes with any hotel. Everything is negotiable.

All of the major programs offer meeting planners points of one sort or another. Marriott also offers credit towards status. SPG gives you Platinum with $100k in spend. Which program are you looking for details on?

one would think, I've planned a number of meetings but because there was no catering involved with the meeting, the hotel would not provide planning bonus.

I've also negotiated low rates w/a hotel for a large group & again hotel did not play ball.

I agree that most anything is negotiable, but just because it is, doesn't mean one will get what they want.
