EVA Air to launch elite class on Beijing, Shanghai flights

    EVA Airways, one of Taiwan's top two carriers, will begin Aug. 15 to offer direct cross-Taiwan Strait flights with its highly praised "elite class" seats from Taiwan to Shanghai and Beijing.

    The flights will depart from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Beijing and Pudong in Shanghai, and from Kaohsiung to Pudong, said EVA Air.

    The elite class cabins are available on large carriers such as the Boeing777-300ER and 747-400.

    Passengers traveling in the "elite class" will sit on shape-memory seats with adjustable headrests and a 38-inch seat pitch, while enjoying amenities such as
