So it seems Air Canada is making a special offer on upgrades for the rest of the year. According to the offer page, we can upgrade "closer to [our] flight date" (sic). They really mean earlier (which is farther from the flight date, not closer).

And for flights under 1500 miles , there is apparently a possibly to upgrade for "less" (sic) credits. That is, fewer credits.

    (Edited to remove erroneous material)

So, earlier upgrading and lower number of eCerts for short flights.

Hmmm ... my charts show that the W class was 15 credits earlier this year - did they not have a promotion this summer for fewer eUpgrade credits and now it is over?

I thought I was managing upgrades at 10 certs a pop all year. My recollection of the summer promotion was that the time was doubled, tho' I could always be wrong. 15 certs to upgrade a domestic flight is a lot, to say the least.

I stand corrected. Original post edited to reflect the correction.

I could have sworn the end date for this offer was December 31st, 2015. Was it secretly extended to March? Or was it like this in the first place?

I think you're referring to a later offer, which also included a gift of 10 ecerts, which I will be using later today.

Bottom line here is that the increase in eUpgrade certs needed for domestic upgrades has been rolled back. We'll see about international upgrades in due course, I imagine, though no signs of any movement on that front yet.
