Etihad to introduce onboard chefs in first-class cabins:)

Etihad Airways will be introducing onboard chefs to serve its Diamond first-class passengers, raising the bar for inflight service in its premium cabins.

The new service feature will be deployed on a staggered basis from October on all flights with first-class cabins, including those bound for London, New York and Sydney. The airline will be recruiting 100 chefs this year for this initiative.:)

Interesting. Asiana used to have sushi chefs on the LAX route, prepared rolled to order sushi. But I'm not sure what this is other than a gimmick, the real constraints are (1) hardware and (2) investment in the food itself, I find that the median CX first class flight attendant is perfectly well trained in cooked-to-order eggs for instance.
