Error on Delay Notifications from TripIt Pro

    Just a warning to beware of relying exclusively on TripIt Pro notifications of delays. Last night, traveling from LAX-SFO, I received a 1 hour departure delay notice. I checked the screens and with the RCC dragons, and they had nothing on the delay. I went to the gate, and apparently the purser for the flight had received the same message. The gate agent called the dispatchers to confirm that there was still an on-time departure.

    The captain, standing at the podium stretching his legs after the flight that had just arrived, said "nope - I'm making the call, and no delays today."

    Upshot was that if I had relied upon TripIt in that case, I would have missed the flight.

    If you click on the blue word "report" at the bottom of your post, you can request that the threads be merged by someone in admin. It's not obvious to me which forum is better for this information.
