A SKY watcher has filmed the frightening moment that a jet appeared to fly straight into a bolt of lighting over Brisbane Airport.
The startling video was filmed during the Sunday night electrical storm, which caused delays for a number of flights into Brisbane as well as injuring two people on the Sunshine Coast.

The footage was posted on YouTube and identified as an Emirates A380-800 plane coming into land.

The footage shows the plane crossing the sky as a sudden bolt of pink electricity emerges.

"Now did you get that on camera?" the photographer's companion asks, stunned by the sight.

"Send it to The Courier-Mail and they'll pay you a thousand bucks," he jokes.

A spokesman for Brisbane Airport said significant delays affected a number of services as multiple storms passed through the area.

Planes are hit by lightning all the time. Also, they don't ever try to "dodge" it at all.
