    Not sure how it compares to other airlines, but 18,000 RTWs is a lot.

    Also, while 43m pax flew, I'm not sure all of them (especially those crammed into 3-4-3 seating in Y on the 777) were enjoying fine dining.

    SQ used to literally circle the globe daily. I think that honor is left to the Kiwis now.

    seems the Maltese were providing Emirates with an info-mercial, fine dining is a bit of stretch particularly when you are crammed in like sardines at the rear of the plane ;-)

    No. Since NZ dropped HKG-LHR during 2013 it does not circle the globe with its own route network.

    I would think that UA or DL would be doing significantly more ? Given the number of planes in the air, and the destinations covered.

    Yes although Emirates is fast catching up. EK flies mostly longhaul or mediumhaul.

    I have no idea how accurate this HuffPo 2012 article is, but it had EK 4th for furthest flown.

    Edited to add - although not labelled as such it appears to be revenue-passenger-miles in millions, so figures aren't comparable with the article in OP.
