So Air Canada has set up a crowd funding site for people who would like to go somewhere. I presume the main target audience is not frequent flyers. Has anyone checked out Embarq?

Would it have better uptake if it were to be renamed? Perhaps 'Go Fly Me?'

    First I'm hearing of embarq.

Seems a bit disingenuous to me. AC makes it easy / easier to crowdsource then they take some or all the $$$ to fly someone somewhere. I think instead they should have worked with Aeroplan to extend the program where people donate points.

Wow, yes, when I tried logging in from a non-Canadian account I got that very same message.

If you happen to have a Canadian account, you'll have to page through many screens of zero-funded requests before you get to anyone who's actually managed to receive any money through the Embarq programme.

Methinks that the poor wee beastie of a website shall not be long for this world.
