I haven't seen any reports of anyone receiving new UA elite cards for 2012. Unless I am first it seems unlikely I will get mine in the next few days. So I will be trying the *gold lounge access dance on several flights in airports w/o UA presence. Any word of UA making any accommodations to provide temporary proof for those traveling while cards are mailed (or not...)?

I only just got my classy 'stickers' (I live at the end of the Earth apparently), so I would expect to see my card sometime in June or July if I am lucky ;)

Maybe they'll send out some smaller stickers that update the date on the current stickers before the end of the month :D

I haven't even received the "classy stickers" for either my United Premier Executive or my Continental Gold OnePass cards. I guess it may be because I *do* live on the other side of the Earth, and they probably sent them out bulk (junk) mail instead of pre-sorted First Class. Junk mail floats over by boat, so I'll probably get the stickers sometime in April or May. :(

Fortunately, my Lufthansa Senator card works fine for Star Alliance lounge access. :)

I think we have another week to go before anyone should get nervous.

Why wouldn’t UA simply be able to announce that the stickers are now good thru whatever date they wanted them to be?

What, the stickers that explicitly say "Valid through March 2, 2012" on them?

    http://milepoint.com/forums/threads/new-extension-stickers.26719/#post-1142231

Naa, if they don't get the cards out in time, they need to send out smaller stickers with a new date that covers up the March 2.

Really? They couldn’t get the word out to the * teams that anyone with a sticker on their card that says "Valid through March 2, 2012" should now be considered valid through, say, April 2? They actually would have to print and send out all new stickers with all that extra expense?!

    Okay, if you say so.

I am kidding! Did you really think i was thinking they would/should send out smaller stickers to update the date on the first set of stickers? ;)

But really, why are we now speculating that they will need to extend the extended cards again?

Frequently, I am dense, especially when something’s repeated. Apologies.

I agree that this is a cart way before the horse.:)

Far enough for me -- closest I ever got to Tazmania was Melbourne, Australia.

But apparently I'm further away from wherever United is mailing the stickers, because I *still* don't have them, while you did get yours.

SeanMVCA, I see you you're young and a dreamer.

At most non-US Star lounge locations, the card is a prerequisite, according to
the lounge guardians, who apparently are given (at least exercise) no leeway
or discretion whatsoever. Even a valid card may not earn admittance if it is
not pictured in the sometimes well outdated book that they are provided. I
have heard stories of AC and LH agents calling UA to verify a status, but they
are just that, stories; and the fact that someone bothered to post them is a
    measure of the phenomenon's rarity.

My card showed up yesterday. I suppose there are more that are in the mail?

I did not get my card, and am really not worried about not getting in a lounge. If I have to travel as a general member I will deal with it a few times.

I received my stickers, but don't have a card to stick them on. I qualified for 2P last November, 1P in late December, but didn't get any love from UA.

I'm still trusting it will all work out soon. Fortunately I didn't have any problems getting into the LH lounge in Dubai.

That's why you need to have a valid card in your possession.

You are correct, in my experience. Even more so for partner lounges.

FWIW, I just gained entry into a Senator Lounge at FRA. The expired stickers were not an issue.

Happy to report I got access to the *A lounge in LHR this morning (3-3-12). UA agent suggested I just show them my BP with *Gold printed on them and not even show my 1K card with the expired 3-2 sticker. Followed his instructions and no issues getting in :)

FWIW, I was asked for my card at FRA and ICN last week, even with boarding pass.
