Why did ELAL not make the cut to have its own thread as it is active on flyertalk. I think it should be added. What is the policy for making such a change on MP?

Certainly the amount of traffic an airline would have on a thread is a factor. Since there have been about three posts about El Al, it seems to not be worth the space for its own thread.

Not to mention that the LY forum on FT tends to be ... boooring.

Does anyone have pics they can post of Biz and 1st on different configurations of aircraft / routes? I've been wondering what these classes are actually like compared to others.

If one could fly Swissair Biz or LY biz to LAX/SFO (to/from TLV) which is the better product/experience --- discounting the nonstop aspect of TLV-LAX?

I think Swiss Biz (Swisair is long gone...) has full flat beds in biz on those routes, while LY does not. That would be a major factor for me.
Although the direct flight is also a major fact IMHO.

TLV Guy, thanks for the comment ... and the reminder[IMG] - I keep forgetting there was a name change for Swiss Air to Swiss quite a while back .

A single thread on all things El Al isn't going to cut it. Please check the forum we're in for my question about El Al.

BTW I tried every which way to search for "El Al" so I could find this thread. It was like a needle in a haystack. There must be a way. I the end I had to search for *TLV*

Has anyone flown LY (El Al) from BKK (Bangkok) to TLV?
If so, is there any difference in seats/service/space etc between the 763 which leaves BKK at 12:10am versus the 747-400 which leaves BKK at 16:20 on Tuesdays.

    Thanks in advance.

From the "other" forum, I gathered there is a difference ... the 747 seems better than the 763.

I was going to ask about which are the better seats for the 747 here ... but it seems that this thread is basically dead here compared to "the other forum" :(

    For the questions above:
ELAL uses usually a 76X on the TLV-BKK, with some use of the 747. A used 747 was added to the airline, but is not in revenue service yet (should be very soon). Equipment changes are more likely to occur when one plane get stuck due to smaller number of planes. Just before passover, ELAL had to lease plane+crew from a spanish company to conduct 4-5 flights b/c a 747 was down for tech. and did not complete the renovations on time. It meant that alot of the equipment started 'flying around' to different routes.

IMHO, unless you have to fly non stop from TLV to BKK, I would suggest using other services..

Note that you need to confirm your elite status but we handle that for you.

Looking forward to all the feedback,
