Is there an easy way to check if a route is MFU without going day by day?
Not sure what you mean by day-by-day.
I'm not a BA upgrade expert. But my understanding is that BA pulls upgrades from the same inventory as awards. So if you search the award calendar you should also know if there's upgrade space.
Yup. I searched for CW awards and made searching easier
If you searched for CW award space and there is availability, then you would be able to pay for WT+ and upgrade using miles.
When you log in to your BAEC account, the flight search option includes Book with Cash, Upgrade with Miles. This will let you make the necessary booking and will give you the option, subject to availability, to upgrade either the outbound, inbound or both legs.
