    Hello,

My wife's account is about to expire (coming up on a year since her last stay), but she has a good chunk of points that I don't want to lose...any tips on easy and cheap ways to keep her account alive? Purchasing 1,000 points was the first thing that came to mind--can someone verify that this does in fact extend the life of the account by a year?

    Thanks!

What about using the HHonors shopping mall site?

    :)

For the future, I would suggest taking out a no-fee Hilton Amex. Pick one of your regularly recurring bills that can charge to American Express, and give them that card number. Set up the card to pay automatically from your bank account. Now you never have to worry about it again.

A couple of years ago, a phone agent suggested to me that I buy a few points and it apparently worked for me then.

I'd probably do the I-dining thingo. However be prompt about it because as we all know Hilton is the one program that will close your account and confiscate the points.

Agree with doing I-Dine. However long term, I would get a no fee credit card and use it once a year.

So, any activity will extend the points for one year? I am looking at my husbands account, his points expire in Dec 2012. He has the no annual fee HH AMEX, so I'm guessing that's from his last statement posting in Dec 2011 then. Just wanted to double check I know with some of the hotel programs, like Choice, the points expire and there is nothing you can do about it. Thanks!
