I'm equally stunned by the sudden return of historical meaning to the word Enhance. ;)

Much better than DL members can even do with some of their own ST partners (i.e., KE).

Sounds/looks to me like AS is trying to "seize the day" if you will... in a world of reduced benefits and devaluations... "Hey come fly with us!" Good on 'em, I say.

Wait, will this earn MVPs elite bonus miles, too? currently the webpage says MVPs can only earn elite bonus miles on "Alaska Airlines and our Elite Qualifying partner airlines", but soon every international partners will become "Elite Qualifying partner airlines"? Or we can still earn elite bonus miles from the current partners only?

Great news. I have a simple question though. I plan to fly Cathay Pacific on paid flight to Asia later next year. How do I make sure that I earn the miles that will count on elite status for Alaska. Do I need to purchase the ticket and give Alaska FF #?

This is bold and positive for consumers. It is the opposite of recent UA MP and DL SM moves. With the infrastructure in place, what AS needs now is a serious widebody fleet to attack the crusty old leviathans and restore some meaningful sense of competition to a landscape that has been rapidly denuded.

Yes, you just need to give your AS MP# to CX. It may need to be done at check-in.

Does anyone know if AS will approve a mileage request if I had used my CX FF # on a CX flight but then submit a claim to AS for mileage for my AS FF#?

Asking this because I'm CX gold and wish to take advantage of the benefits on the CX flight.

    Thanks!

You can only claim miles into ONE program for a flight. If this leg has already been flown and your CX FF# was on the reservation when the gate agent scanned it and you boarded the aircraft, it is too late to put the miles in another program. Alternatively depending on which benefits you wish to use if the flight has not departed, you could potentially use your CX gold card or other credentials to obtain lounge access or what-have-you and then credit miles to your AS account. That would depend on what benefits you want to use and what the details of their program are... something I know nothing about.

Either way, at departure time the FF# you have on the reservation is the one you have committed to using.
