    I know – 1,300 miles is not a huge amount. Not only that, it is basically buying miles and who likes to do that? But, because Ultimate Reward points and Membership Reward points do not transfer to Alaska Airlines (SPG’s Starpoints do transfer) and because the sign-up bonus on their credit cards is only 25,000 miles, picking up Alaska miles is always a good idea. The cost for these miles works out to .67 cents per mile. That is a really good deal for “buying” miles, even though it is a small amount of miles. - Alaska Airlines Shopping Portal This deal involves getting a NY Times Digital subscription through the Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan shopping portal. The portal is paying out 1,300 miles for getting a subscription which costs $5 for 12 weeks. The terms of the payout indicate that they will reverse the miles if you cancel your subscription before 90 days, so you will need to use one additional week at $3.75. So, for the total cost...
