    so I have to comment.

Dunkin Donuts USED TO BE a great donut chain, way back when they used to prepare their donuts in house. I can recall as a kid going to DD and seeing the guys working in the back with the donut fry tank & all the confection items like powdered sugar and fillings/toppings. Those days are LONG gone and all donuts at DD are made somewhere else, many frozen, then shipped. UGH.

I refuse to go to DD now as a result, thankfully there are a handfull of donut shops around that are still doing things the right way, making all their goods in house. Have a donut from these type shops & it makes it very tough to go back to DD and in my case, impossible to go back to DD as I won't put up with the inferior quality.

Hooray to Krispy Kreme, we enjoy rather much, but not that often!;)

How is the coffee at DD?

Totally off topic, but growing up traveling with my parents, I remember the Dunkin Donuts stores in Indonesia carried this rum-jelly-filled chocolate donut. Think about the Boston Creme donut, just replace the filling with rum jelly. It was delish!

I have stopped at a few DD's while driving around on the east coast, but only for coffee. Don't really like donuts very much. Too sweat for my taste (do they make salt pretzel donuts?), I am more of a bagel kind of guy.

There are two ways for civilians to legally pass through Camp Pendleton. The first is bicycling, as the alternative route without the base would be on the shoulder of Interstate 5. The other is to ride the North County Transit 395 bus which passes through Camp Pendleton on its way between Oceanside and San Clemente. Thus you could disembark on your way through the base and partake in donuts.

uh oh. I can cope with cops/donuts/coffee/guns but am not sure I'm ready for marines with donuts, coffee, and guns. :)

OMG it's open and has been for 6 months. How I missed this is a mystery. Wonder where I'll be stopping by tomorrow, after the gym of course.
